Under the sponsorship of `Council for life environment protection and sustainable development of the City of Nis` in Regional center for education of professionals in Nis, the workshop on energetic efficiency was organized with the title `Together to energetic efficiency and sustainable development`. The workshop was organized by the association of `Engineers for life environment protection` in Novi Sad and local partner- Regional center for energetic efficiency in Nis in cooperation with Administration for Communal Services, Energy and Traffic of the City of Nis. The representatives of City of Nis local organs of authorities and the Region (delegations of Palilula and Mediana), members of Council for protection of life environment, public communal and civil sector (Protecta, Ekopolis, Zeleni kljuc) participated in this event.

FRENCH COMPANY HELPS THE CARE FOR THE OLD

24.11.2009.

French pharmaceutical company `Sanofi – Anventis`, that for 11 years has been present in Serbia, gave two computers as presents to Palilula Municipality, i.e. to be later used for `Day - stay stationary center for care of the old and disabled` that was recently formed in Palilula. Two computers also have all the following equipment.

MA Sci Dr Zoran Damnjanovic, regional manager of `Sanofi-Aventis` gave the donation to PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality. Ana Jiricek, sales manager, as well as other associates of this company, were present during this reception in Palilula Municipality. According to Novakovic words, `this way of support to the project of helping the old and the disabled is very significant. City of Nis also provided one car for the work of our mobile team at the terrain.

STRENGHTENING ROMA WOMEN AND COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION

23.11.2009.

Association of Roma women `Osvit` and Palilula Municipality have realized on of ten planned one-day seminars within the project `STRENGHTENING ROMA WOMEN AND COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION OVER MUTUAL EDUCATION GUIDED BY PRINCIPLES OF INCLUSION`. Seventy five representatives of local self government and seventy five Roma women from City of Nis Roma settlements– Mediana and Palilula municipalities, Aleksinac, Prokuplje and Pirot, gathered in hotel `Aleksandar`. The lectures with the title `Open the door for us` were organized during this day. Ana Sacipovic, director of `Osvit` association spoke about history, culture, tradition and customs of Roma nationality and Boban Mikic, member of Palilula Council and Safet Susica spoke about legal regulations with affirmative measures for inclusion.

CARE FOR THE OLD - JOB FOR THE UNEMPLOYED

20.11.2009.

Within the project of the City of Nis and Center for Social Work `Sveti Sava` in Nis with the title `INTEGRATED SERVICE OF SERVICES FOR THE CARE OF THE OLD AND DISABLED` Stationary day- stay center was founded in Palilula including the team for the terrain work. During this occasion president of Palilula Municipality, PhD Igor Novakovic with his associates Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly, Milos Stojkovic, member of Palilula Council, Bojan Ilic, head of Municipal Administration and Slavoljub Savic, head administration associate, visited the participants of the project and the Center itself. The address of the Center is in `Barska` street, `Association of deaf and hard of hearing` building. `According to citizen registration from 2002 every seventh citizen of Palilula is older than 65.

SOLIDARITY AND AGREEMENT MAKE THE BEST OPTION

19.11.2009.

After the call of Citizens Council of Gabrovac village and people from `Rudnicka` street, Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Municipal Assembly visited them. Vojislav Jocic, president of Citizens Council, introduced the president with problem that appeared during reconstruction – asphalting of `Rudnicka` street when the break down of old water system, that is still in use, happened. This damaged and broken water installation jeopardizes all surrounding households, but also regular supplying of people with hygienic drinking water. At the meeting, that was organized at the terrain, Palilula Municipality offered its help. It is agreed that the Citizens Council urgently organizes the continuance of works that will help in this situation, mend the damage and stop the outflow of water without any control.

PALILULA HELPS SCOUTS WORK

18.11.2009.

The agreement on cooperation programme with the Scouts Union of City of Nis and scout squads `Kralj Petar Prvi`, Djuka Dinic and `Skolski Brod Jadran` and Palilula Municipality was signed in municipal building. These all scout squads are active at the territory of Palilula. Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Municipal Assembly and Slobodan Tepavac, leader of Scouts union of the City of Nis signed this agreement. The objective of this agreement, as the participants of this gathering said is `contribution to education of young people through system of values, based on scouts behaviour rules – to help the creating of one new world where people are fully individuals and have constructive role in society`. `This support is part of Strategy of Palilula Municipality to provide better conditions for activities to organizations that work with children..

GREEN ZONE BY THE RAILWAY

12.11.2009.

Palilula Municipality has designed the project of cleaning terrains and planting seedling trees in a form of an alley in `Dusana Popovica` street by the railway. Professional team of Public enterprise `Gorica`, Nis is engaged in this work. This team is directed to cleaning wild vegetations and weeds, digging seedling pits and cleaning of wild dumps. 130 new birches will be planted in this area This location was visited by PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality and Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Municipal Assembly, Bojan Ilic, head of Municipal administration and Milan Stevanovic, member of Palilula Municipal council. Branimir Jezdimirovic, director of Public enterprise `Gorica`, spoke about the significance of this activity and this terrain.

DONATION TO ROMA FAMILIES IN `MRAMORSKA` STREET

12.11.2009.

In the scope of support programme to Roma community, Palilula Municipality during this year realizes many activities of support to socially jeopardized categories. With support of `Ljubi bliznjeg svog` association, the van with food, hygiene products, clothes…came last week to `Mramorska` street. The member of Palilula Council, Milos Stojkovic, gave the donation to the representatives of this settlement, emphasizing that this is only short - term kind of help dedicated to those who are in the worst social position at the moment, specially to children. After the agreement with people from the settlement called `Stocni trg`, donors` goods will be jointly shared. Up to the end of this year, new donations aiming at improving the quality life of Roma nationality people in Palilula, are also expected.

LEDIB CERTICIFICATES TO TRAINEES

11.11.2009.

During the ceremony in Hotel `Aleksandar` in Nis, general manager of LEDIB Programme in Serbia Carsten Lund and training coordinator Indira Verem Koman handed the certificates to seminar trainees for the completion of the training in organization of LEDIB programme. This training was for the representatives of local authorities from Nis administration region and City of Nis. Five trainees were included from Palilula Municipality. `Activities and mechanisms of public policy`,` Improving internal communication and improving dialogue with SME and entrepreneurs` and five modules `Strategic planning`, ` Strengthening capacities for accepting developing funds`, `Resources of local economic development LED`, `Attracting direct foreign investments SDI`, `Development of SME and entrepreneurship`- all workshops, the trainees of Danish neighborhood programme successfully went through this training that has for its goal the support to local economic development with focus on SME and entrepreneurship development.

GRAVES OF SERBIAN SOLDIERS NOT FORGOTTEN

11.11.2009.

Palilula Municipality started re-adaptation and reconstruction of Old military cemetery. Keeping from oblivion this place of burial of our but also allied soldiers from Liberation wars.

Within Palilula Municipal action `Reconstruction of green surfaces in residential parts` at Municipal territory` PhD Igor Novakovic president of Palilula Municipality and Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Municipal Assembly visited `Old military cemetery` in Delijski Vis. It was estimated during this visit that this area is now surrounded with many residential buildings and houses and is under the state protection, but is very much deserted. On each step one can find the remains of buried soldiers. After the idea of Palilula authorities `Old military cemetery` will be reconstructed area into park type of surface and together with reconstruction of sport terrains will make one memorial complex.

FREE OF CHARGE REGISTRATION INTO BIRTH REGISTER

10.11.2009.

After successfully completed first phase of regional project `Social inclusion and accession to Roma, Askalia and Egyptians rights in Western Balkans`, European commission and UNCHR continued, with their executive partner Praxis organization, the second phase of this project that will last next 18 months. In cooperation with representatives of Nis City Administration, Palilula Municipality and Crveni Krst Municipality, as well as representatives of Roma communities in Nis UNHCR started the implementation of the project `Social inclusion- support to marginalized communities` at the territory of the City of Nis including two municipalities. With the final realization of this project, that was promoted in Palilula Municipality in NKC hall and in the presence of 40 representatives of Roma associations, all Roma nationality people, refugees and displaced all living in Nis will be registered in birth register.

`CENTER FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP` WORK START SOON

09.11.2009.

In the context of `Strategy of small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship development of Palilula Municipality 2009-2013` implementation, that was adopted by Palilula Municipal Assembly in the end of October, a press conference was organized on Monday 2 in Palilula Municiapl buidling. Boban Mikic, member of Palilula Council and coordinator of this project, spoke on the matter. `We approached to Strategy of SME and entrepreneurship systemically and in the partnership with LEDIB organization that implements local economic development programme in the Balkans, with the focus on the sector development of SME and entrepreneurship.

Annex of Memorandum on understanding between municipalities of Nis administrational region and LEDIB In December 2008 was signed by which the realization of `Strengthening capacities of Nis region municipalities` started` reminded Mikic.

CITY OF NIS GREEN NETWORK FOUNDED

06.11.2009.

City of Nis Council for life protection organized signing protocol ceremony on forming ` City of Nis Green network ` under the motto `ZeleNIS 2009` (GreenNish). This protocol was signed by many representatives of civil society organizations like Protekta, EKOpolis, Ekoland, Zeleni kljuc, Media center, then by city enterprises and institutions (public enterprises – Mediana and Gorica), Institute for nature protection of Serbia – Nis), city municipalities and the City of Nis. In the name of Palilula Municipality this document was signed by Zorica Stojiljkovic, member of Palilula Municipal Council.

City of Nis constantly invests its efforts in life surrounding improving and promoting. Sonja Popovic, president of the `Council for life surrounding protection`emphasized that `ZeleNis` is an informal network of civil society institutions and organizations that deals with preserving and protection of life surrounding and sustainable development at the territory of Nis.

INFRASTRUCTURAL PROJECTS OF PALILULA AND SVOGE

03.11.2009.

Serbian Palilula Municipality from Nis and Bulgarian Municipality Svoge (Sofia region) prepare common presentation within new cycle of programme for neighborhood cooperation Bulgaria - Serbia that is co-financed by IPA and is realized in the cooperation with the Ministry of regional development and public works of Republic of Bulgaria (MAS) and Ministry of finance of Republic of Serbia. During a business meeting, organized in Svoge, these two project teams and authorities from both municipalities, agreed to work on the project in the area of infrastructural improvement in municipalities and that the carrier of the project would be Palilula Municipality.

Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly together with Bojan Ilic, head of Municipal administration, Boban Mikic Municipal councilor and Milos Stojadinovic from Municipal project center, emphasized that Svoge Municipality is one of rare local authorities in Bulgaria that has its office in Brussels and is on the very `spring` of information in projects financed by EU.

CENTER `MARA` HANDED ITS RECOGNITION TO MUNICIPALITY OF PALILULA

03.11.2009.

During the ceremony for 15 working years of Center for day stay for children, young people and grown ups of mentally disabled `Mara` , Palilula Municipality received the recognition in the name of good cooperation. Marina Milanov, manager of this institution, handed the recognition to Zorica Stojiljkovic, member of Palilula Council. She emphasized excellent cooperation with Municipal authorities and thanked for the support for printing this institution. Monograph.

About 200 users have been using the services of `Mara` since November 1 1994. Some of those users are still spending time in this institution. Every working day gathers about 50 users in this center.

KNOWLEDGE FOR HEALTH AGAINST DRUGS
02.11.2009.

Palilula Municipal authorities visited ETS `Mija Stanimirovic`, high electro-technical school in the scope of Public personalities-Knowledge for health against drugs campaign, initiated by Nis Assembly and Administration for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport –City of Nis. Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly, Zorica Stojiljkovic and Milos Stojkovic, members of Palilula Council and members of Palilula Assembly Snezana Krivacevic and Jelena Barton visited the school and talked to pupils about their free time and interests and objectives of this campaign. Prevention of young people abuse and drugs distribution prevention in school yards, meeting damages of narcotics, providing alternative solutions and promotion of healthy styles of living, were the themes of discussion with Aleksandar Veljkovic, head master of this school.

NOMINATE THE MOST SUCCESSFUL PALILULA PUPILS - STUDENTS

Palilula Municipality has recently sent the invitation to all Paliliula educational institutions (elementary schools, specialized schools, grammar schools and three faculties) to suggest the best pupils and students – young people who have shown the best results during 2008-2009 school year. Like the previous year, the selected pupils and students will be photographed for annual calendar for 2010. The names of the candidates, for this project of their promotion, with short explanation why the institution, headmasters and deans actually chose them, basic info about the candidate and his or her contact phone number, are to be submitted to the Administration of Palilula Municipality up to Friday November 6 2009, Branka Radicevica 1, street, Palilula Municipality., City of Nis.
